The land is the hotel.

A garden retreat on the Gulf of Thailand

Three rai of tropical garden, built from empty land into something that feels like it has been here for decades. The land was chosen for one reason: Mae Ram Phueng Beach, ten minutes on foot, and the feeling it gave us the first time we walked it.

Driftwood sculptures line the corridors. Original art hangs in every room and along the walkways. Books fill the shelves. The pool sits between the trees, surrounded by stone and planting. Nothing here was chosen from a catalogue. The property was assembled piece by piece, and it shows, in the best way.

Garden walkway between rooms at Tree Roots Retreat, Rayong

The garden

Three rai of living, breathing ground.

The property sits inside a tropical garden: driftwood sculptures, birds that arrive before breakfast, and corridors lined with found objects and original art. Three rai of land on the eastern seaboard of the Gulf of Thailand, close to Mae Ram Phueng Beach, the morning market, and the working coast that makes this province worth knowing.

The pool

The living room is outside.

The pool sits low among the trees: stone-edged, garden on every side. No deck chairs in rows, no pool bar. Just water, shade, and the sound of the garden doing what it does.

The property is the point.

Sauna

Available anytime. Let us know at reception or via LINE and we will have it ready for you.

Guest kitchen

Everything you need to cook for yourself. Stock up at the morning market and make it your own.

Library & coworking

A long teak table beneath original paintings, pendant lights, and fast internet. Somewhere to actually work, quiet in the garden morning.

Training

A jiu-jitsu mat and yoga space for those who want to move. An open-air gym for those who want to train.

The residents

They were here first.

Three dogs on-site: Buddy, Joy, and Muffin. Turbo the tortoise roams the garden. Snakes in tanks and an iguana in a cage, for the curious. After dark, geckos on the walls and bullfrogs from the garden. This is their place too. We welcome dogs as guests as well; see the pet policy in the FAQ.

Rayong

A province that has not been packaged.

Rayong is still itself: a working province with real coast, real food, and real forest. The morning market starts at 5am. The fishermen eat where you eat. The beach is a living stretch of the Gulf of Thailand, ten minutes on foot from your room. Two and a half hours from Bangkok. Close enough to reach, far enough to feel different. Koh Samet is a short boat ride from the pier.

Floor-to-ceiling library bookshelves at Tree Roots Retreat

The library

A room built for stillness.

Books line the corridors and fill the shelves in every room. The library workspace sits at the heart of the property: a long teak table beneath original paintings, pendant lights, and the quiet of a garden in the morning. Work here. Read here. Or just sit with a coffee and let the morning pass.
